Dr Greg Patterson
After completing undergraduate medical training at Sydney University, I trained in psychiatry and qualified as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2000. Since then I have worked in a wide range of clinical settings, including metropolitan psychiatric inpatient and outpatient services, rural psychiatric outpatient services, and private practice. I have valued the opportunity of tutoring medical students at the University of New South Wales, and mentoring trainee psychiatrists in south-eastern Sydney area health services. I enjoy the camaraderie of working in multi-disciplinary teams
managing complex clinical situations.
I have a keen interest in the assessment and treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and the various mood and anxiety disorders. I also assess and treat co-morbid conditions such as substance misuse.
The recent relocation of The Mindcare Centre has provided me with the opportunity to join the experienced team at The Gladstone Practice. I also continue my long-term commitment providing visiting psychiatric consultancy at The Griffith Community Mental Health Centre
In the Riverina.
The facilitation of agency, autonomy and a return to optimum function are my therapeutic goals.
