Psychiatrist Fees

  • Do I need a referral to see a psychiatrist?
In order to receive Medicare rebate it is necessary to obtain a referral from a medical practitioner to see a psychiatrist. Specialist referrals are valid for 3 months and General Practitioner referrals for 12 months. A written referral must be reviewed by one of our treating psychiatrists before an appointment can be made.
  • How do I contact reception?
Between the hours of 9 and 5 on a Monday to Friday you can ring 0410 085 553 or our landline number at 9818 7334 and you should be able to speak to one of our three receptionists. You can email all requests to reception@gladstonepractice.com and reception staff will deal directly with your requests or Dr Florida’s Personal Assistant Ann-Marie, will liaise with you to address your concerns. Emails are not reviewed after hours so please don't rely on this method in an emergency. Please refer to "What do I do in an emergency?" emergency below.
  • Is there a cancellation fee?
